 ¡¡¡¡Otherwise
known as the main building, the Historical Relics Hall is
the main exhibition room of the museum. It is located in the
center of the new exhibition area.
¡¡¡¡The museum attaches importance to exhibitions with educational
information, timely themes, and good taste, intended to serve
the people. In celebration of the 70th anniversary of its
founding, it featured the completely new exhibition ¡¶Zhejiang
of 7000 Years¡·by making complete adjustments to the original
¡¶Zhejaing Exhibition of Historical Relics¡·.
¡¡¡¡Instead of displaying the provincial general history, the
new exhibition presented its highlights. Archeological relics
were selected to reflect the different charms in such different
historical stages as the Hemudu Culture, the Liangzhu Culture,
the Yue State, the Wuyue Kingdom, and the Northern and Southern
Song Dynasties. With local characteristics, they produced
an enormous influence on Chinese history, reflecting the local
ancestors' great creation of lasting value and brilliant contributions
to the human civilization.
¡¡¡¡As how to display ¡¶Zhejiang of 7000 Years¡·, the usual annalistic
style is replaced by the leaping style in which contents,
though unconnected in form, are inherently related to each
other. Furthermore, some original scenes, local restoration,
and statues as well as modern means including large-screen
projection and multimedia are supplemented to make the exhibition
more colorful, more appealing to modern visitors. This exhibition
has been awarded as 2000's National Ten Superb Display Prize
and Most Popular Prize given by State Cultural Relics Bureau.
¡¡¡¡This hall has three floors in all, Prehistorical Culture
including Hemudu and Liangzhu of Zhejiang History at the first
floor; Yue State, Wuyue Kingdom and Southern and Northern
Song Dynasties at the second and contemporary parts at the
third.
