ZPM Social education department is a work collectivity dominated by young men who take up most work of explanation, ticket sale and checkup, visit reception, student diathesis education and community cultural construction. It’s safe to say that museum is a window showing human civilization, historic development course and various cultural sites to the public. In Oct. 1997, we began our course of creating “Youth Civilization Pioneer” and hung on the tablet. In 1998, it was awarded as Provincial Youth Civilization Pioneer. And in 2000, a young man was evaluated as “Ten Excellent Youth of Zhejiang Province” by provincial League Committee. Since the founding, the collectivity has accomplished outstanding achievements, prominent performance and been appraised as provincial Youth Civilization Pioneer. Recommended by provincial League Committee, it has been nominated National Youth Civilization Pioneer by League Central Committee, with tablet hung out formally in March 2002. This indicated that ZPM’s movement of going all out to create Youth Civilization Pioneer has mounted to a new stage. It’s a recognition and encouragement on ZPM’s efforts, and directs a more definite goal to it. ZPM will keep powering and urging on itself, self-disciplined dedicative, and improving and innovating on aspects of business skills and service quality. It will show excellent spiritual visage and vocational making of this collectivity to the public, and play its role as good model in provincial cultural system.
I. What’s “Youth Civilization Pioneer”?
　　“Youth Civilization Pioneer” is a collectivity and project, young men as its principal part, created in course of production, operation, management and service to show high vocational civilization. Carrying out this activity is for the purpose of organizing and directing the youth to base themselves upon their duties, working honestly with civilized professionalism and setting up consciousness of hardworking, spirit of exploitation and concept of quality, safety, benefits, competition and services in conformity to requirements of socialism economy. And displaying spiritual status of modern youth to the society, figuring trade and vocational civilization and driving these two civilizations. This movement was launched in Jan. 1994 by the mode of separate startup subject to vocations, first in trades such as public security, public transportation, electricity, railway, traffic, post, foreign trade, sanitation, finance, taxation, tourism, civil aviation, industry & commerce, supply & marketing, and then gradually pushed to national important construction projects, mining enterprises and party bodies. On April 1, 1994, Chinese former President Jiang Zemin wrote “Youth Civilization Pioneer” in person, which encouraged all young men greatly.
II. What are the basic standards?
　　Basic standards of national “Youth Civilization Pioneer” are: young men under the age of 35 as the majority, and age of important principal not more than 35 years old; Who implement routes, guidelines and policies of the party and the country actively and abide by related laws and regulations, and bylaws of their own institutions; Our young men love their own job, hold excellent vocational morality, and stressing civilization, quality and credit in course of production, operation, management and service; according to their features, they’ve carried brisk and effective creating action. Their performances have obtained recognition of our party political leaders and high opinions of service objects, and excellent social evaluation.
