 ¡¡¡¡The
Zhejiang Museum is always committed to comprehensive scientific
studies of its collection and to exhibitions and preservation
of cultural relics. Characterized by a three-in-one combination
of the old, the middle-aged and the young, it has 3 research
fellows, 17 associate research fellows, and 30 other members.
They are professional team with a good knowledge composition.
They have scored great achievements in scientific studies.
¡¡¡¡The museum has set up the influential academic journal
Dongfang Bowu¡¶Cultural¡¡Relics
of the East ¡·and professional newspaper Zhebo Tiandi¡¶The
World of Zhejiang Museum¡·. It has also put out various books
and albums about the museum's collection and achievements
in museological research, such as ¡¶A 70-Year Collection
of Zhejiang Museum¡·, ¡¶Zhejiang of 7000 Years¡·, ¡¶The Charm
of Celadon¡·, ¡¶Wu Changshuo's Works Collected by Zhejiang
Museum¡·, ¡¶A Collection of Huang Binhong's Landscapes and
Flower-and-Bird Paintings¡· and ¡¶Copybook of Zhongyi Hall¡·.
In addition, it has held large-scale academic activities,
including the symposium on Sha Menhai's calligraphy, the
international symposium on Chen Mingyuan's pottery art,
the symposium on Southern Song currency, and ¡°Museum Curators'
Forum-- Towards
the New Century¡±. It has won the national cultural relic
prize of scientific and technological advancement for its
research projects ¡°On Outdoor Freezing Dehydration of Hemudu
Water-saturated Relics¡± and ¡°On Long-acting Moldproof and
Mothproof Mounting Binder¡±.
¡¡¡¡As
a ¡°cultural ambasador¡±, the Zhejiang Museum has been working
to promote international exchanges and cooperation. In the
1980's, it held the Zhejiang Historical Relics Exhibition
in West Germany. The 1990's witnessed more exhibitions overseas,
including ¡¶China Zhejiang Cultural Relics and Treasures
Exhibition¡·in Shizuoka in 1990, ¡¶China Zhejiang Cultural
Relics Exhibition¡·in Tochigi in 1992, ¡¶Asian Civilization
Exchange Exhibition¡· in Fukuoka, and ¡¶Zhejiang Ancient Celadon
Exhibition¡·in Hongkong in 1993 respectively, ¡¶Special Exhibition
of China Zhejiang Cultural Relics¡·in Fukui in 1997, and
¡¶Zhejiang Ming and Qing Artists' Works Exhibition¡·in Singapore
in 1998. These exhibitions both brought international fame
to the Zhejiang Museum and Promoted and enhanced traditional
Chinese culture worldwide.
